Welcome to Children of Bahamut! We're happy you're interested in joining our community. While there are no applications to join, there is a character claim. These are done on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Character Name: Lahabrea
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Canon Point: Shortly before the summoning of Zodiark
Age: unknown, but almost certainly measured in centuries at least.
Link to History: the early life section is the only relevant one; the rest he has not yet lived through

Personality: To most any onlooker, Lahabrea has a tendency to come off as something like an overly stern professor. This is not incorrect. He is prone both to sternness and an overabundance of seriousness, and though he is steadfast in his decisions once they are made he is not exactly the kind of person to be good at being friendly Enough so that even his coworkers make note of it. Which is not to say that he can't be polite - he is more often than not - but it's the kind of politeness that doesn't easily lend itself to approachability.

Underneath that stern and largely stoic exterior, however, is a man who is very much prone to not only curiosity - especially in the scientific and philosophical senses - but in unwavering comment to his duty and his world. He's stubborn, too. Once he has made his decision, he will stick by it even when the decision is something that has been made in haste out of a need to see a situation handled. And it should be noted that in the heat of the moment he has sometimes been prone to ideas that are not the best thought out, for all they would have been effective.

Finally, for all that he keeps a fairly firm leash on it, he does have something of a temper. For the most part, this shows up as him being quick to turn sharp when irritated or otherwise frustrated, but through the course of the Pandaemonium we are shown a version of Lahabrea who is almost entirely driven by anger. An anger that at least must have some echo in Lahabrea himself, for as twisted as that vision might have been by the circumstances of its creation, it was nonetheless something born of Lahabrea's very soul and such anger cannot have come from nothing.

Dragon Bond Suggestion: Personality-wise, black is probably the closest! But he does also have strong thematic connections to fire. I have no strong preference for whether his dragon is aligned to his personality or opposed to it! I can find ways to make either fun.
Dragon Bond Changes: It depends a little on what dragon he ends up having a bond with! A black dragon would amplify his already strong tendency to be stern and steadfast in his beliefs (and may do something to mitigate his tendency to make snap decisions), while a red dragon would instead amplify the darker edges of anger and impulsiveness that he once tried to remove from his soul entirely. A brass dragon, on the other hand, might well see him actually managing to be something like social, given enough time for him to get used to the bond.

Game Plan: For all that Lahabrea is not, particularly, the easiest of people to get to know, he is nonetheless possessed of more than his share of curiosity. He is, after all, a philosopher-scientist at heart, and the idea of a whole new world's worth of things to learn about will get him out and about sooner or later. (Once he's done getting over his displeasure at being removed from his world at such a critical juncture.) The presence of more than a few castmates will help in this regard, since that will give him a sense of familiarity to fall back on during the first bit or so. I have no concrete long-term goals (I prefer to see how things go as they go), but I wouldn't be surprised to see him digging into the magic of this world - or others! - and just generally doing the sorts of things one would expect a man prone to being a big old nerd about magic would do.

Personal Information: Kepesk was someone you wanted on your side in an emergency. He was a fixer of sorts, someone who wore many hats and could stay calm even in the face of extreme adversity. His primary focus was on political conflict and resolving tense situations. He was always able to find quick solutions, not just in those situations but in interpersonal conflict as well. He was good at making people feel heard while also working towards resolutions. Outside of this, his favorite pass-time was fishing and could often be found near the closest body of water casting a line to see what was biting.
