Quest Board
Quests & Reputation

You and your fellow players can do quests out in the surrounding area to help build the reputation of your town. Outsiders are not easily trusted, especially ones with strange powers. That said, the more good deeds you and your fellows perform then the more comfortable the world will be with you at large. You can also earn some gold that can be traded with merchants across the land, find or receive interesting/unusual magical items, or even earn some bonds to exchange with Charlie!
As your reputation rises as a group, you deepen your bond with the land and new areas will become accessible to you as well as more amenable to hosting the people from your town.
Quests will be ranked by stars, up to five! One being easy and five being the hardest available at that moment. The harder the quest, the greater the reward and reputation will become. But be careful, you can also lose reputation if some of you fail at your tasks or run amok!

Quest Submissions

Quests or missions can either be threaded out and submitted when complete or you can do a write up on what happened and how it went!
Just comment here under the appropriate header with either of the forms above to submit your quest interest or results.
Open Quests
- ⁂ For open quests, there is no limit to how many times people can take these on. They are the equivalent of your 'repeatable' quests in RPG settings.
⁂ The only restriction is that we ask people wait seven (7) days after submitting for and receiving the rewards from one quest before submitting for another. This is because we want everyone to have a chance to look at and engage with the quest board as well as pace the growth of reputation and expansion into the setting in an organic-seeming way!

Quest Submission Form (Open)
Exclusive Quests
- ⁂ For exclusive quests, anyone can make a submission to take them on but if multiple players wish to take the same one, OOCly the moderators will RNG who receives it and - after the first round - give preference going forward to those who have not received an exclusive quest yet.
⁂ ICly, since exclusive quests are more difficult and, well, exclusive- A quest master will interview the applicants and decide who seems best for the job. They, too, will give preference to new adventurers rather than veterans in order to better establish offworlders reputation as a whole in Town and beyond.
⁂ This will be decided once a week on Sundays to allow time for people to put in their interest. Those who do not get selected will have their comments screened and may try again the following week!

Suggested Party Size: 2+.
Possible Rewards: 2 Reputation, Minor Weird Magical Objects like the Chumbysaurus Homunculus
Summary & Objective: After Ignis Scientia managed to distract some of the curious pixies from stealing his glasses by making them small novelty cut foods for them (bunny-shaped pear slices, flower-cut zucchinis)... a few of the little creatures seem to have gotten a fondness for them! They would now like more novelty-made foods, and don't care who answer their call. Or, you know. The tiny notes people get stuck onto their faces in the middle of the night demanding fun foods.

Suggested Party Size: 3+.
Possible Rewards: 4 Reputation, some bottles of elven wine that definitely won't get you drunk, and a tiny construct (1 for each participant) one elf teen made for their homework that can reliably do one (1) repetitive task you task it to (i.e. stirring stew, clearing weeds, etc)
Summary & Objective: A decently sized travel group of Elven merchants are passing through Town, with their teenage kids along for the ride. A group of those same teens are interested in 'expanding their horizons'. Thus, they have requested a group that can not only procure a bottle of human wine (stronger than elven wine, at least to them), but sneak it past their parents' animal familiars somehow.
Note: different group of elven teens than the ones in the other quest.... although the characters might not know that

Possible Rewards: 3 Reputation, some bottles of elven wine after age-checking you, and each participant a choice of kitten from one of the recent litters they've bred and which they sell in various towns
Summary & Objective: A decently sized travel group of Elven merchants are passing through Town, with their teenage kids along for the ride. A group of those same teens are interested in 'expanding their horizons'... which their parents don't think they're ready for. Those parents are thus hiring to cockblock their kids getting access to human wine. The parents think they might hire other people from Town... (They're actually using other methods....)
Note: different group of elven teens than the ones in the other quest.... although the characters might not know that

Possible Rewards: 1 Reputation, a medium-sized container of really good cheese
Summary & Objective: A request for some manner of tailor has been made, along with delivering the repaired garment to its home. This is unremarkable save for a few facts: the garment is an extremely small wizard's robe (doll-sized), the delivery location is a cave in the middle of the woods, you are under threat of small forest rodents attacking you for the robe, and the person waiting at the cave is covered in a much larger robe, with a hooded cloak, and there might be multiple tiny eyes peering out from the shadows of the hood. Don't worry about it. Here's cheese for your discretion.

Possible Rewards: 1 Reputation, [possibly] a bad night's sleep
Summary & Objective: Some locals have heard tell that an undead might be wandering around, and want someone to hunt it down and get rid of it one way or another. As it turns out, however, the undead is a former bard possessed by the need to tell tales to whoever will listen. Combat is easy, as he'll be easily chased away at the threat of violence... but one could also humor him by listening, whereupon he'll leave of his own volition. Although funny dreams come with that...

Possible Rewards: 2 Reputation, a piece of transmutated jewelry
Summary & Objective: Vert Merton is an elderly wizard who specializes in transmutation magic and runs a small business - taking old discarded things and using spells to transmute them into fine and pretty jewelry. However, her stock has run out lately, and she so would appreciate folks who venture out into old places to gather such things! Watch out for pests!

Possible Rewards: 3 Reputation
Summary & Objective: Someone - not naming names, Minect - accidentally fed some very small pigeon-cat griffins. Now the neighboring tavern keeps having these things lurking around, and begging people for more scraps with their pigeon-purring. Local store owners are begging for help for someone to round up these adorable menaces so they can be sent off literally anywhere else.

Possible Rewards: 8 Reputation, plus the magical items of the Frockroach Coat, Mermaid's Voice Elixir, and the Mealwish Cauldron
Summary & Objective: A sorcerer may or may have not messed up in the creation/use of a magical item that allows her to transform into objects. Which is neat! However, the problem is that she is now stuck as a small dresser which can kinda wobble around but can't really see too good. Also it seems 80% of the wildlife are drawn to hating her. Including maybe a monster. Help escort her back to her poor adventuring party (considering of a very tired cleric), and she'll reward you with some of the other weird things she's made! Some which might be usesful!

Possible Encounters: Lesser daemons from FF15 canon
Possible Rewards: 10 Reputation, 1st level conjuration spell/cantrip
Summary & Objective: After learning about the school of conjuration spells, Ardyn has taken it upon himself to learn all that he can. But why should he withhold such information? In order to help others in Town, he'll start 'conjuration classes' where he teaches people 1st level conjuration spells, observes, and works on his own craft. Unfortunately, Ardyn is a more hands-off instructor and that means there is more room for error among his pupils.
People taking on the quest will be those called upon to clean up the mess of a player/NPC spell failure of Find Familiar. And this creature might be familiar in more ways than one to some people as a lesser daemons, but Ardyn reassures there's nothing to worry about. They can't infect anyone (as far as he's seen) and even if not bound correctly, they're just a mild inconvenience to be dealt with.

Possible Rewards: 3 Reputation, 1st Level Bard Spell
Summary & Objective: So, Dimi's Meemaw used to be something of an adventurer Back In Her Day (tw). Somehow, she's gotten to a ripe old age where she can now retire and be with her family... Except she's decided no on that, and is running off to relive her adventuring days. Dimi would like it if someone can fetch Meemaw for her and, in return, she'll share some bard tricks with folks (although they all do require you to sing). But be warned: Meemaw lived to a ripe old age for a reason as a ranger.

Possible Rewards: 3 Reputation, 1 Rival Coin, and a dog's affection
Summary & Objective: A local ranger has the benefit of a cheetah-falcon gryphon companion, which make for interesting hunters! However, it is also just, constantly under threat of anxiety, so they have a second companion: an emotional support dog. Unfortunately, this means now having a dog with a very questionable sense of self-preservation, and now the dog sometimes escape artists away only to packbond with a very confused large predatory animal/beast that is somehow endeared. Please get them back. Their gryphon is going to have a mental breakdown.

Possible Rewards: 1 Reputation, as much edible scales as you can carry
Summary & Objective: A herder with a decently sized herd of pitaya lizards the size of lambs is passing through on her way to better climates and weather. However, her herd can get rather bored, and she does need to sleep sometime. So she'd appreciate it if a group could come over, entertain her herd through talk or action, until she's all the way through. In appreciation, she'll hand over some of their scales - they grow back pretty quick, and the flesh (...fruit?) is nice if you get a taste for it!

Possible Rewards: 1 Reputation, a large bottle of Stegnog or milk
Summary & Objective: Having apparently heard about Charlie's new guest from some towns over, a rancher has come over to pay his respects and start up shop here! However, new to Town as he is, he could use a little more hands for a bit to help take care of his herd! You know. Of stegosauri. Ushering them back in after the day is done, helping feed them, or even milk them - all is helpful! And he'll reward people with either plain ol' stego-milk, or even stegnog! It's a classic in his hometown, he promises!

Possible Rewards: 1 Reputation, an author-stamped hardback review copy of "The Sea of Sin"
Summary & Objective: Mackenzie R. Ingles has just released her very first adult novel, "The Sea of Sin", and is hoping to net a few romantics willing to promote her work and leave an honest review. Copies can be obtained at a collaborating stall in Town's marketplace, along with writing utensils and loose paper which can be brought back to the stall once patrons' reading adventures are complete. Quest takers will be tasked with filling out a review form (one per person) and assisting with management of the stall (oddly there seems to be no sign of Mackenzie herself).
The book is a sensual tale set on the high seas where a member of a notorious pirate crew falls overboard during a storm and is captured by a highly advanced colony of undersea warriors. There, the Prince of the Oceanids (not to mention one of the guard captain's daughters) take particular interest in him, and he must find a way to earn his freedom - assuming he even still desires it once all is said and done.
(tl;dr Things Happen and yes there are many spicy and seductive scenes we cannot speak of here, you'll simply have to read the book and find out, won't you?)
QUEST SUBMISSIONS
OPEN QUESTS
Gossiping Grannies (Young Sephiroth, Gaia, Ignis, Prompto)
Party Members: Ignis, Gaia, and Sephiroth (the mini one)
Dice Roll: (We weren't sure if we should each roll or not but just in case!)
Prompto: 20 (Obligatory Tom Cardy link.
Ignis: 14
Sephiroth: 11
Gaia: 6
Summary or Thread: So Prompto, Ignis, Gaia, and Sephiroth team up to escort grannies! How hard could it be?! Ignis will probably be workin' the grannies over for gossip (METAPHORICALLY SPEAKING). Gaia and Sephiroth aren't great at the social skills or intel collecting but Ignis rocks at that. Prompto will be keeping an eye on the surroundings and maybe EVERYONE will be wondering how he got to be the technical adult in this group.
But there could be some solid performance on the bandit issue. Sephiroth is a highly trained and competent fighter and SOLDIER. Gaia is from a world where she might have lived as a rich girl but still needed to defend herself. She can conjure up a hammer. Ignis is a practiced strategist and support skill afficionado with excellent combat abilities of his own. These will be some of the WORLDS MOST PROTECTED GRANNIES no matter what the three out of towners look like. Prompto is probably leavin the diplomacy to Ignis. But maybe not! Maybe he's also makin' friends with the grannies!
The question is what might happen depending on what TYPE of bandits show up.
ORPHANED KIDS: This group of multiracial bandits could be just a bunch of juvenile delinquents looking to score some snacks/food for orphaned kids. Yeah we know Charlie's doing his best and people are trying to rebuild but sometimes things slip through the cracks. SO maybe this is a group that was are having to do what it takes to fill their mouths.
While the tactics probably wouldn't normally work on such a skilled and canny group, trouble will come when the frontrunners of the 'kids' (probably the bigger, older ones) try to attack. Sephiroth, trained to be lethal regardless of the target would probably react that way, shocking grannies the party alike. Gaia will probably try to prevent Sephiroth from landing a lethal blow in a 'what are you doing they're kids! just scare them!' and maybe even succeed because she can teleport in to block one strike as a 'surprise' (won't work a second time but hopefully once will be enough). Ignis may not be superhuman fast, but he'd still move in to help reprimand Sephiroth for being like that against children, and would properly scold all of them before figuring out ways to make them into Productive Members Of Society. Child guards for the grannies lets go?! Prompto, having absolutely nailed a baller 20 in perception, will also move to react and try to prevent any lethal reaction IF the children actively attack Sephiroth.
Sephiroth will NOT go lethal mode if the kids do not attack him.
Some of the pilfer group of kids might actually get away with product and maybe they won't be as successful. Some of the kids may be injured a bit or captured. It will be a bittersweet thing. AT LEAST 90% unsweetened cacao.
ACTUAL BANDITS: For one reason or another these are actual, adult bandits. Maybe the don't care who their target it. Maybe it's the outsiders who were the real targets (thinking they could be sold off). Maybe the grannies are a secret group moving actual gold from place to place and the bake sale is a cover. Whatever the reason there will be less merciful leanings; at least from Gaia and Sephiroth. Both are from worlds and circumstances where if you turn to this sort of stuff you get what's coming to you and if that's death? /shrugemoji. Ignis will be more inclined to capture bandits alive for intel purposes. Prompto will take potshots at the baddies, having the advantage of range and massive forewarning. This may or may not be tempered by Ignis' efforts to take prisoners as they do know how to work together. Things like cover fire and so forth instead of outright direct hits.

Goblin Dinner
Party Members: Angeal Hewley-Rhapsodos, Genesis Hewley-Rhapsodos, and Sephiroth [full sized]
Dice Roll:
Angeal - 19
Genesis - 12
Sephiroth - 4
Summary: Utilizing their military experience and freakish unison teamwork that comes from totally normal circumstances and definitely not their lowkey connection via alien hivemind virus, the gang plans on definitively wiping out the goblin problem. Sephiroth might have a bit of an issue, occupied by a younger version of himself as his thoughts are, but that's why his teammates are here to help out. While Sephiroth and Genesis are coming in equipped with swords, Angeal is just going to rely on his hand-to-hand expertise to put goblins down. And apparently do pretty good if that 19 has anything to say on it.
SUCCESS!!
Gossipping Grandmas
Party Members: Bucky/Asset, Avan, Nephenee
Dice Roll: 12
Summary or Thread: Avan will probably chatter amiably with the ladies and be useless if there's trouble, while Bucky is on high alert the whole time and jump very twitchily when a nice old woman tries to pat his arm. Neph is likely to be somewhere in between. Working on getting the actual thread up right now...
SUCCESS!!
Gossiping Grandmas
Party Members: Ignis Scientia, Ravus Fleuret, and Ardyn Izunia
Dice Roll:
Ignis - 18
Ravus - 14
Ardyn - 11.
Summary or Thread: Log for both threads, but the gang plans to keep things pretty straightforward! They'll all provide somewhat charming company - Ignis because he knows the ladies from a prior run of the quest, Ravus because he's a polite knightly nerd, and Ardyn because he's doing his best to put up a good innocent act to the locals. They'll continue on as normal.
That is, until Ignis recognizes some signs of bandits being about (familiar as he now is with them), and organizes the group accordingly. Ravus is sent off to finish escorting the grandmas. In the meanwhile, Ignis and Ardyn will take care of the bandits.
....Whereupon Ignis takes advantage of the moment to grab one of the bandit weapons, and kill Ardyn in the whole mess.
His
lieexcuse is that Ardyn got overconfident and fell in the heat of battle, whereupon Ignis spared him his suffering since he clearly wouldn't make it in a journey back to town. Truly tragic, but a good lesson in never underestimating a foe. Very tragic. Don't worry, Ignis buried him already.SUCCESSFUL MURDER!!

Party Members: Prompto
Dice Roll:
Prompto: 14
Noctis: 4
Summary or Thread: Upon learning folks need help wrangling chickens, Prompto cajoles his boyfriend Noctis into joining him in lending a hand. While Prompto is a bit of a natural with critters, the chickens seem...Rather unhappy and uncomfortable with Noctis. Perhaps it is because he hasn't met any chocobos back home at his canon point, or perhaps it is because he is starting to smell like something that reads as dangerous to the birds. Whatever the reason, he is having a bad time. Should they run into the Larger Than Average Rooster (That is Very Mean), it will most definitely spur Noctis multiple times whilst Prompto tries to help him run awaaaaay!

Party Members: Angeal Hewley, Cloud Strife, and Sephiroth (travel size vers)
Dice Roll: .
Angeal - 17
Cloud - 9
Miniroth - 6
Summary or Thread: So three idiots walk into the forest to kill goblins-
That is to say, Angeal is realizing that these two losers need a little more structure in their lives, and so he's decided to take them out on a kind of clean up duty they might be most familiar with. He also thinks it would be funny to make Cloud deal with more Sephiroth in some capacity. It's good for him, he promises.
However, Cloud is so busy trying to look good in front of both these First Classes that he's going to eat shit a little bit, while Angeal covers up for the lapses. Kind of like the last time he had to deal with killing goblins, actually...
This becomes a problem, however, when Sephiroth enters the picture. With him refusing to do teamwork things, and Cloud Strife having his own issues with him, it becomes a bit of a mess.
If Angeal starts to realize that they won't be able to clear out the goblins this go-around, he may well cut his losses and just grab one goblin to do an improv lesson on teamwork with this pair of jackasses.
