⁂ CHARACTER
Character Name: Ardyn Izunia
Canon: FFXV
Canon Point: After Chapter 13 (Redemption), but before the events of Chapter 14 (Homecoming). There's a nebulous ten year gap there that I'm scruffing Ardyn like the feral cat he is from.
Age: lol. lmfao, even. 2000+
Link to History: here. beware major game spoilers!

Personality: Ardyn is, on a surface level, very theatrical and seemingly unbothered by a lot. The man doesn't appear to take much seriously and makes jokes or pokes fun at even dire circumstances. He can come across as creepy, suggestive but also civil, composed, and calm even in the face of hostility.

All of these are tactics though usually to incite hostility in others because, well- (cw for end game spoilers + suicidal ideation mention) He's sort of cursed by space bubonic plague called The Scourge that drives him to ruin and be ruined in kind. But even without that, he's lived too long and hates the gods so much he's just kind of a dick who seemingly either 1) wants them to die or 2) let him die. Honestly, both would be his ideal but he's willing to compromise with just his own death by the end.

In meme form though:

Dragon Bond Suggestion: For Ardyn, I like the idea of something opposing his personality so Silver. Mostly because he'll be absolutely infuriated about another dragon in his head trying to tell him what to do. Brass is a close second though. My third choice would be any of the Chromatic colors except for black because a bitch can't be THAT predictable okok.
Dragon Bond Changes: As mentioned, I would like a dragon-soul that opposes his current personality/views and challenges him to remember the man he once was. The one who loved humanity, wanted the best for his people, was a healer- He'd rather drown that man by his own hands but, of course, this isn't about what Ardyn wants and never really is so too fucking bad.

Game Plan: Ardyn won't so much 'adjust' as be forced to play nice with others... until he stops playing and actually, genuinely begins to forge bonds despite himself. I'm here for the long con of people discovering who he is - and importantly, who he was - and how that doesn't excuse any of his atrocious actions but at least gives a bit more context to them. Forgiveness won't be given, but instead earned through him showing he can be better here.

Naturally, there will be backslides and hurdles to overcome as well as the fact he's literally fighting internal demons in his head. But, still! He will eventually begin to try and do better and therefore no one can criticize him. (They can.)
